Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. I loved the great view of the River Tyne from my room and the convenient location that catered to different customers. However, being on a busy road led to disturbances in the early morning hours, affecting my overall experience. The rooms could use a revamp, but they were clean and comfortable, offering a cozy stay with the addition of an adjoining room.
The hotel's location couldn't be faulted and was within walking distance from the quayside and the city center. Our room, despite being clean, felt a little tired with dark décor, and the air conditioning didn't work on a scorching hot day, making it unbearably warm. The size of the rooms was also quite small, which was a bit of a downside. However, the service we received from the staff, particularly the receptionist Tracey, was exceptional and some of the best we've ever encountered. The cafe's dining area was clean and tidy, offering full English and vegetarian breakfast options, though it was a bit greasy for my taste. The hotel had excellent facilities despite some cleanliness issues in public toilets. Overall, the hotel was very close to everything, making it perfect for our needs.
The hotel was conveniently located near bars and restaurants, offering everything I needed within walking distance. The staff provided a great atmosphere by going the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. However, the noise from traffic was a bit bothersome, and there was conflicting information between the hotel and the car park wardens.
The hotel's location was fantastic for exploring Newcastle, with easy access to Quayside and the buzzing city center. The rooms were a bit too hot, but the shower was good, although noise from other rooms could be disruptive. The service was outstanding and the staff were Englishly cheerful and helpful, even providing umbrellas when it rained. The dining options were varied, but the pub underneath was not the best. Overall, a great spot for those looking to be in the heart of the action in Newcastle.
The hotel was cozy and clean, with a lovely staff. The breakfast room was a bit dated, and our room lacked a bath. However, the attentive service and spacious rooms made our stay pleasant.
The hotel is situated ideally for a city stay with access to all main areas, but the noisy bars around could be a downside for some. The rooms, while a bit on the small side, require updating particularly with the bathroom facilities. The service was inconsistent, with some staff not fully engaging and cleanliness concerns in shared areas like the cafe. The advertised dining hours were not accurate, limiting breakfast options for guests. The location's proximity to the city center was convenient, but the noise level from adjacent nightlife may impact sleep quality.
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The location was great with a car park and easy access to the city center, but the noise from the busy road was disruptive. The rooms offered a nice view of the river and the swing bridge, though they could benefit from a revamp. The service was generally pleasant, but the noise from other guests was a nuisance. The dining options were convenient but breakfast hours were not ideal for business travelers.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The location was excellent, perfect for exploring bars and enjoying the Quayside fireworks, but the room was disappointing with its tiny size, damp smell, and cleanliness issues. The service, however, was top-notch, with incredibly friendly and helpful staff making my stay more pleasant.
My stay at the hotel was a bit mixed. While it was in a convenient city location on Newcastle Quayside, being close to the center and in a lively area, I was disappointed with the rooms being on a main thoroughfare of traffic on the quayside road. The smell of fried food was a bit off-putting, and the room was dirty and run down, not meeting the standard I expected for the price paid. Unfortunately, the early morning noise disturbed my sleep, and even the parking turned out to be an issue as I got a ticket despite paying for it through the hotel.
The hotel had a great view of the River Tyne and is in a fantastic location for many different customers. The rooms were warm, with a lovely view of the river and quayside, but being on a main thoroughfare of traffic on the quayside road led to disturbances at early hours, affecting the overall stay. However, it exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend this hotel as excellent value, especially being only £30, a true bargain and very close to everything, particularly The Sage where I was heading.
I had a great and comfortable stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious and provided a peaceful atmosphere. However, the non-working AC and limited window opening made for a hot night's sleep. The location was brilliant, within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and attractions. The service was fantastic, with staff being friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The dining experience offered a lot of choices but the advertised breakfast time might not suit early risers. Overall, a good value for money stay at a convenient location.
The hotel offers a nice stay with clean and comfortable rooms. The friendly staff adds to the positive experience, although the dining options could be improved. The location is excellent for exploring the city, and the facilities are well-maintained.
I was really pleased with the hotel's location, right along Newcastle Quayside, making it easy to access various attractions. The staff, although friendly, left a bit to be desired in terms of service quality, especially in the cleanliness department. The room we initially had showed signs of neglect with an unpleasant musty smell, but thankfully we were upgraded to a better room. Dining options were limited, and the facilities were somewhat lacking in terms of maintenance and cleanliness.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms had everything I needed, including a bath, but weren't very clean, with issues like the skirtings not being cleaned and no housekeeping on Sundays. The service was very welcoming and helpful overall, but there were some hiccups like cleaning issues in the room and being overcharged accidentally. The location was excellent, perfect for any kind of stay, with plenty of dining options nearby. The dining experience was good overall, with quick and efficient staff, although the breakfast start time was inconvenient. The facilities were satisfactory, but there were some maintenance issues to note.
The hotel had a few drawbacks like rooms being very hot and a bit run down, but the service was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was great for exploring but in need of renovation. The dining experience was good for the price despite some limitations. Overall, a mixed but decent stay.
